Tutorial 1 Problems

Jun 13, 2011 at 10:12 PM

Hi, I'm new here, I follow the tutorial instalation and I got all the dll, when I try to  build the tutorial 1 and 9  I got the  next

The type or namespace name 'GoblinXNA' could not be found (are you missing a using directive or an assembly reference?) C:\GoblinXNAv3.5\tutorials\Tutorial9 - Advanced Features\Tutorial9.cs 12 7 Tutorial9 - Advanced Features

and more

Warning 24 Could not resolve this reference. Could not locate the assembly "GoblinXNA, Version=3.9.30.2010, Culture=neutral, processorArchitecture=x86". Check to make sure the assembly exists on disk. If this reference is required by your code, you may get compilation errors. Tutorial1 - Getting Started

Do you have any idea what is going on?

Thanks a lot for your help

Right click on "GoblinXNA" in the "References" section, and click "Properties". Under properties window, set "Specific Version" to "False". I believe that should fix the problem. Otherwise, delete "GoblinXNA" from the references, and re-add it from the GoblinXNAv3.5/bin folder.

did you build the solution? when you build it, if there are no errors, it should produce a GoblinXNA.dll in the bin directory.

In folder unmanaged, are you sure there dll files: alvar150.dll, alvarplatform150.dll, ALVARWrapper.dll, cv100.dll, cvaux100.dll, cvcam100.dll,  cxcore100.dll, highgui100.dll, Newton.dll ?

note: I compile ALVARWrapper1.5 project and it generated ALVARWrapper1.5.dll file , not ALVARWrapper.dll file, i rename it, then copy to unmanaged directory.

you try !

Hi,

my error is slightly different. when i added Scene class i will get error pointing at the Scene class variable saying

"The type 'Microsoft.XNA.Framework.DrawableGameComponent' is defined in an assembly that is not referenced. You must add a reference to assembly 'Microsoft.XNA.Framework.Game', version....token...."

I do a lot of things like remove and add all referenced libraries. tweaking the project properties settings & add the reference path but still the problem persists

please help

Hi,

my bad wasn't particular about the basic stuff. before, I compiled the tutorial with 2010 Express and XNA 4.0. Now everything works wonderfully. now I'm using 2008 Express & XNA 3.1
